Easier than you are expecting. Monte has importing built in, so pulling in your rosters and your curriculum is a few guided steps rather than a data-entry project. If your current tool can export (Transparent Classroom, Brightwheel, Montessori Compass), Monte can take that file directly, and if your records live in spreadsheets, Google Drive, or a filing cabinet, we will do the move with you. Guides get a short orientation and families join with a one-tap invite.

It's the whole point. Monte is built around observations, your albums and lesson sequences, prepared environments, and each child's progress through them, not a generic daycare checklist with Montessori words pasted on top. We help you load your own album so the planner and progress tracking match how your school actually works.

Yes. Guides can use Monte free on a limited basis: recording observations, child and parent profiles, the calendar, and environment management. It's a genuine way to see whether Monte fits your classroom before anyone signs anything.

Yes. Monte is offline-first: guides can record observations, attendance, and daily care with no connection at all, and everything syncs the moment the device is back online. Classroom wifi should never be the reason a moment goes undocumented.

Every record is encrypted both in transit and at rest: all traffic runs over HTTPS/TLS, and the database itself is encrypted. Access is controlled just as tightly. Each school's data is walled off completely from every other school, and parents can only ever see their own children. Those rules are enforced at the database level and backed by automated tests, not just by which screens the app happens to show. Records sit on US-based servers with regular backups, and we never sell your data or share it with anyone else.

Earl runs on Anthropic's Claude, and nothing we send is ever used to train their models. Photos of children never reach the AI at all: even if you attach an image of a child while using Earl, Anthropic never receives it, and that is enforced in our code rather than by policy alone. One exception, in the interest of full transparency: if a staff member imports a file or photo through New Event on the Calendar, or builds from a file in the Curriculum tab under Lessons, that file is sent to Claude to be read. It still is not used for training, and there is no reason a child's photo would ever go through either of those two places.

You own your data, and you can export all of it whenever you like: children, observations, photos, attendance, and records. There are no exit fees and nothing is held hostage. We'd rather earn the next year than trap you in it.

Parents earn $100 for themselves and $200 for their school. Write a review and record a short video one, and we'll add a free month.
